As of January 1 there is a law in New York saying you have to pay for your plastic grocery bags or bring your own.
I have a 56 year habit of going to the grocery and finding that the grocery bags are free, and, accordingly, have not yet been able to eat that 56 year habit. Rather, I have purchased many “permanent” grocery bags at .10 a piece.
