Liberals everywhere are celebrating the news that New Yorkers can kill their babies right up until birth.
Sarah Ragle Weddington, the attorney who represented Norma “Jane Roe” McCorvey in the original Roe v. Wade case, apparently commented, “To see New York pass a bill so that right is protected, is just a dream come true.” Wow! What a thing to dream about!
Celebrating Death?
I have never understood how people can celebrate abortion. I’m not surprised that selfish people would do such things, but I have never understood how anyone could celebrate it!
Is it not interesting that Satan has found a way to cause humans to celebrate the very things he does to destroy them? America celebrates abortion, same sex marriage, and evolution—all of which devalue humanity. We kill our babies, pervert marriage, and discount the Creator, and think we have achieved something. No wonder our country is in such turmoil! How could any nation ever reject God and more eloquently invite Him to stay out of their lives than America has done in the last sixty years?
Hosea 2.0
In the book of Hosea we see that because God’s people did not acknowledge Him, He turned them over to a spirit of prostitution. Wonder what is next on God’s timetable for America? Can destruction truly be that far away?
Hosea 4:1-14 says:
Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites,
because the Lord has a charge to bring
against you who live in the land:
“There is no faithfulness, no love,
no acknowledgment of God in the land.
2 There is only cursing, lying and murder,
stealing and adultery;
they break all bounds,
and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3 Because of this the land mourns,
and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field and the birds of the air
and the fish of the sea are dying.
4 “But let no man bring a charge,
let no man accuse another,
for your people are like those
who bring charges against a priest.
5 You stumble day and night,
and the prophets stumble with you.
So I will destroy your mother—
6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
“Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children.
7 The more the priests increased,
the more they sinned against me;
they exchanged their Glory for something disgraceful.
8 They feed on the sins of my people
and relish their wickedness.
9 And it will be: Like people, like priests.
I will punish both of them for their ways
and repay them for their deeds.
10 “They will eat but not have enough;
they will engage in prostitution but not increase,
because they have deserted the Lord
to give themselves
11 to prostitution,
to old wine and new,
which take away the understanding
12 of my people.
They consult a wooden idol
and are answered by a stick of wood.
A spirit of prostitution leads them astray;
they are unfaithful to their God.
13 They sacrifice on the mountaintops
and burn offerings on the hills,
under oak, poplar and terebinth,
where the shade is pleasant.
Therefore your daughters turn to prostitution
and your daughters-in-law to adultery.
14 “I will not punish your daughters
when they turn to prostitution,
nor your daughters-in-law
when they commit adultery,
because the men themselves consort with harlots
and sacrifice with shrine prostitutes—
a people without understanding will come to ruin!

This is horrendous. I really struggle with supporting our elected (never elected by me!)officials when they push abomination.

I don’t support them. I understand Romans 13 and Paul’s exhortation to submit to authority, but he assumed a leadership that wanted to operate with integrity.

ESV Isaiah 60:2- “For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you”. The greater the darkness, the brighter the light shines. I can become angry and discouraged by what I see happening in Albany; but then I encourage myself in the Lord, knowing God is always at work. His work just doesn’t make the evening news. But our Hope is sure and steadfast. And I am counting on Him; for this is not the end of the story.

Thank you for weighing in Bruce. We should be angry with a godly anger but never discouraged. Sometimes we are called to stand and witness against the darkness and mark the time.
